Separate Mixing and Pressure Stabilization Technology: Kerke’s Two-Stage Pelletizing Unit Deployed in a Black Masterbatch Project in Russia

Nanjing Kerke Extrusion Equipment Co.,Ltd. has successfully completed full-process factory testing of its customized KTE65+SE150 two-stage extrusion and pelletizing production line. The equipment is set to be shipped to Russia to support a local customer’s mass production project for black masterbatch.
This production line was specifically customized for black masterbatch applications with high carbon black content and employs a classic two-stage series process: the first-stage KTE65 co-rotating twin-screw extruder is responsible for thoroughly mixing and dispersing the carbon black and carrier resin, independently completing the wetting and deflocculation of the powder; The second-stage SE150 single-screw extruder maintains melt pressure and stabilizes the delivery of material to the die head. Separating the mixing and pressure-building processes effectively addresses industry pain points associated with high-filler carbon black processing—such as localized overheating, material degradation, and frequent screen clogging—ensuring uniform and stable blackness.
The production line is equipped with a water-ring hot-cutting system that produces spherical particles with a uniform appearance. A complementary loss-in-weight automatic feeding and batching system ensures precise metering of carbon black, resin, and additives, reduces dust generation, and guarantees formulation consistency. The entire equipment set is equipped with a PLC control system that supports a Russian-language operating interface. Electrical and lubrication components are optimized for the low-temperature workshop environments in Russia, ensuring compatibility with local operating conditions. The equipment has a stable production capacity of 300–500 kg/h, with a maximum carbon black loading of 50%. It is suitable for black masterbatches based on PE and PP carriers and is widely used in pipe manufacturing, film blowing, and injection molding.
The successful implementation of this project represents a significant step in Kerke Rubber & Plastic Modification Equipment’s ongoing commitment to the Russian market. The company will simultaneously provide Russian-language operating manuals, on-site commissioning services overseas, and long-term remote technical support to ensure stable production for its international clients. In the future, Kerke will continue to optimize its two-stage mixing and pelletizing technology to provide comprehensive extrusion solutions for masterbatch and new materials customers worldwide.

The complete PET waste recycling and granulation unit has been assembled and is equipped with underwater cutting and wire-free filters, with a capacity of up to 1 ton/hour.

The PET waste recycling and granulation production line has completed assembly and commissioning in the workshop. The production line is designed with a capacity of 1 t/h and is specifically designed for the resource recycling of waste PET materials such as PET bottle sheets and PET films. Its core equipment is an underwater granulation system and a wire-free melt filter.
The entire production line achieves continuous production integrating automatic feeding, extrusion plasticization, melt filtration, underwater granulation, dehydration and cooling. The meshless filter supports online continuous slag discharge, eliminating the need for frequent downtime and filter replacement, reducing downtime losses, effectively improving the continuity of PET recycling production, and reducing manual maintenance costs.
The underwater granulation process completes granulation and cooling in a water environment, inhibiting the high-temperature degradation of PET, resulting in round and uniform granules and stable quality of finished recycled materials, which can be supplied to downstream industries such as chemical fibers and packaging.
With the continued development of the global plastics circular economy, this equipment is suitable for waste PET recycling projects, helping recycling companies improve production capacity and product stability, and meeting the production needs of sustainable recycled materials both domestically and internationally.

The Kerke small medical polymer granulator unit has completed in-plant commissioning and supports switching between air-cooled and water-cooled processes.

Cork Extrusion Equipment completed the assembly and in-plant joint commissioning of a small medical polymer granulator unit. The equipment is designed with a capacity of 315kg/h and is suitable for the formulation research and development, small-scale trials and small-batch production of medical biodegradable materials and pharmaceutical excipients. It is compatible with two cooling processes: air-cooled strip drawing and water-cooled strip drawing, and can be flexibly switched according to the material characteristics.
The whole production line is equipped with a high-speed mixer, a co-directional twin-screw extruder, a cooling and conveying unit, and a pulling and pelletizing machine. The equipment can quickly switch cooling schemes: when using air cooling mode, the water tank is eliminated, and the entire process is dry cooled to avoid water absorption and hydrolysis of materials and water impurity pollution. No drying process is required, and it is suitable for easily hydrolyzed and sensitive medical polymers such as PLGA, PLA, and medical TPU. When switching to water cooling mode, the water tank is connected for cooling, which has higher cooling efficiency and is suitable for the processing and trial production of water-resistant medical modified polymers and general modified materials.
The main unit adopts a building block twin-screw structure. The barrel and screws can be mirror-polished and anti-corrosion treated, making disassembly, assembly and cleaning convenient and reducing the residue of high-value medical materials. The segmented, independent, precise temperature control system, combined with a vacuum devolatilization system, effectively removes monomers and low-molecular-weight volatiles, reduces the thermal degradation of polymers, and ensures the purity of the output material. The cooling and conveying section supports variable frequency speed regulation, and the wind speed and traction speed can be adjusted to ensure stable material strip forming; The particle length of the particle cutting mechanism is adjustable, and the particle size is uniform.
This model mainly serves pharmaceutical company R&D centers and university new materials laboratories, taking into account formula prototyping and small-batch trial production, and reducing the testing losses of expensive medical raw materials. The entire machine can be customized according to cleanliness requirements and adapted to medical material process verification scenarios. The equipment itself does not represent GMP certification; the workshop cleanliness conditions and a complete set of verification documents must be provided by the customer.
The iteration of new medical polymer materials is accelerating, and different materials have significantly different requirements for cooling processes. One set of equipment is compatible with both air-cooling and water-cooling processes, which can cover more R&D sample needs. Kerke continues to optimize extrusion equipment solutions and provide extrusion solutions to address the pain points of specialty polymers and medical materials. After completing factory testing, the unit will be shipped to the customer’s site for use.
